Your responsibilities will include:Supporting individuals with special needs in daily activities.Assessing residents' skills and development needs.Implementing behavior management programs.Providing conflict resolution and crisis intervention.Ensuring the safety and well-being of residents.Coordinating with social services, healthcare providers, and other professionals.Tracking and evaluating program outcomes.Key Skills: Communication, teamwork, problem-solving, decision-making, critical thinking, organization, and adaptability.Work Setting: Residential care environment, supporting individuals of all ages.Education & ExperienceMinimum Requirement: At least one year of study in a relevant field (e.g., Developmental Services, Community Services, Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, Criminology).Experience: One year preferred.Requirements & QualificationsCertifications (Required or Preferred):Child and Youth Care Worker (CYW) DiplomaDevelopmental Service Worker (DSW) DiplomaSocial Service Worker (SSW) DiplomaCommunity Support Worker (CSW) DiplomaHuman Services DiplomaFirst Aid & CPR CertificationOther Requirements:Background Checks: Vulnerable Sector Check & Child Abuse Registry Check (Provided free of charge)Valid G Drivers License & Reliable Transportation (Public transit accessible in certain locations)Proof of Auto Insurance & Clean Driving RecordWork locations: Orleans and surrounding areasPosition Availability:As a Behavioral Counsellor, we offer both full-time positions (3040 hours per week) and part-time positions (1520+ hours per week). Since residential care is an essential service operating year-round, employees must be available for daytime, evening shifts, weekends, and holidays.Schedule: Flexible shifts available (8, 10, or 12-hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays).Salary: $22.00$24.00 per hour (Rate includes the permanent wage enhancement and is available for the duration of the applicable legislation.)Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent.COVID-19 Considerations:Resident and employee safety remains our top priority.
