Our client, a leader in North America is seeking a General Manager to lead and optimize all mining, milling and tailings operations in Northern Ontario. This is a critical leadership role responsible for the safe execution of mine plans, mill optimization, alignment of production with corporate goals, and long-term mine campaign planning. The candidate will bring deep technical expertise in mining engineering and project execution, combined with strong leadership and regulatory experience.Key Responsibilities:Mine & Campaign ManagementLead end-to-end mine operations including open-pit planning, ore control, ore blending, and haulage.Drive Life of Mine (LOM) and short/mid-range mine planning in coordination with geology and engineering teams.Optimize ore recovery, pit phasing, and tailings infrastructure in line with operational targets.Oversee mine closure planning and environmental rehabilitation efforts.Technical LeadershipDirect mine planning, water and tailings infrastructure, and continuous improvement initiatives.Direct milling operations, process optimization and oversee day-day activitiesImplement and standardize reporting for production forecasts, budgets, and ore reconciliation.Manage contractor and consultant scopes for engineering, dam, and haulage projects.Environmental & Regulatory ComplianceEnsure adherence to all permits and environmental standards.Lead tailings and water management strategies including monitoring and compliance programs.Represent the operation with regulators, stakeholders, and local communities.People & SafetyBuild and lead cross-functional site teams with strong safety culture.Oversee employee and contractor performance, development, and succession planning.Foster a values-driven, collaborative workplace aligned with corporate goals.QualificationsDegree in Mining Engineering, Minerals Engineering or equivalent; environmental background is an asset.10+ years in mine operations, technical services, mill operations with progressive leadership responsibility.Proven experience managing technical mining campaigns, tailings projects, and regulatory bodies.Strong financial acumen in project budgeting and capital planning.Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and team-building skillsNote: If you are not a resident of Timmins, Ontario-- relocation to the area is required.We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted. #J-18808-Ljbffr
