About the University of Toronto Libraries The University of Toronto Libraries system is the largest academic library in Canada, ranked in the top ten among North American research libraries. It comprises 40 libraries across three campuses, supporting a wide range of academic programs with extensive collections and digital resources. The Opportunity Reporting to the Associate Librarian, the Research & Digital Initiatives Librarian will support research services, digital humanities, and digital collections projects, working closely with the Digital Scholarship Unit and campus partners. Responsibilities Support digital humanities development and digital collections infrastructure (Islandora). Lead projects related to digital collections and infrastructure. Enhance research and academic services through innovative initiatives. Engage in outreach and collaboration with campus, community, and international partners. Participate in professional development and scholarly activities. Qualifications Required: Masters in library, archival, or information science from an accredited institution. Commitment to inclusivity, diversity, equity, anti-racism, and accessibility. Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills. Knowledge of research processes, technology in library services, and recent developments like AI. Ability to work collaboratively and independently, managing multiple priorities. Preferred: Experience with digital scholarship projects and project management. Familiarity with content management or repository systems and programming languages such as Bash or Python. Salary and Terms Position at Librarian I/II level, with salaries starting at $76,403 for LIB I and $79,720 for LIB II. The appointment is for one year, starting August 1, 2025.
