Title: Software Engineer (Java) - Wealth ManagementRequisition ID: 217243Join a purpose-driven, high-performing team committed to results and inclusivity.We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join our Global Wealth Management Technology (GWMT) team, which develops and modernizes technology supporting our wealth management business lines. GWMT comprises various departments with agile teams dedicated to delivering, supporting, and maintaining numerous applications and ecosystems within Global Wealth.Key Responsibilities:Champion a customer-focused culture to strengthen client relationships and leverage broader bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.Develop microservices in cloud environments (Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure).Manage project implementations and application integrations.Create technical documentation for solutions.Support production issues and handle escalations during release cycles.Mentor team members in best coding practices and technical knowledge.Troubleshoot technical issues to identify root causes.Provide expert advice to stakeholders.Consider the banks risk appetite and culture in daily activities and decisions.Promote a high-performance and inclusive work environment.Required Skills and Experience:Minimum 7 years of Java development experience.Experience building scalable enterprise technology stacks with Java, SOAP, JSON, and other tools.Proficiency in application architecture and API design.Experience with Microservices and Spring Boot.Knowledge of Cloud Foundry and Kubernetes.Experience across all SDLC phases.Proficiency with Unix tools, shell scripting (Bash, Perl, Python), SQL, PL/SQL, and SQL Loader.Experience developing security systems and analyzing vulnerabilities.Familiarity with version control and build tools like Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Maven.Strong understanding of Agile principles and adaptability to evolving environments.Knowledge of wealth management concepts and workflows.What We Offer:Inclusive culture emphasizing diversity, equity, inclusion, and allyship, supported by Employee Resource Groups.Accessible and barrier-free work environment.Opportunities for upskilling through online courses, cross-functional development, and tuition assistance.Competitive rewards including bonuses, flexible vacation, and comprehensive benefits.Dynamic work environment with amenities and collaborative spaces.Community engagement through hackathons, contests, and other programs.Work location: Hybrid (Ontario, Toronto, Canada)Scotiabank is committed to diversity and inclusion.
