Employees from diverse backgrounds are empowered through engagement, involvement, and growth opportunities in the workplace.LocationTimmins, OntarioSchedule5x2PurposeThe Reliability/Asset Strategy Specialist will work closely with the Budgeting/System Governance Specialist and area Superintendents to ensure strategies in the CMMS and budgets are reflective of the latest analysis.Key outcomes include:Ensure the area asset management teams are supported to make key maintenance decisions through best-in-class asset strategies, life cycle cost modeling, and execution of reliability principlesDeliver insights into equipment reliability, risk mitigation, operate for reliability, and loss prevention initiativesExecute reliability programs across Porcupines asset management functions including defect elimination and operate for reliabilityCommunicate asset management and reliability best practices and technical vision across the Porcupine asset management areas.Develop a site reliability program and oversee the development of asset strategies for all new major production assets purchased by PorcupineResponsibilitiesSafety ComplianceDemonstrate proactive leadership in achieving a Discovery Porcupine culture of safety and healthActively promote Discoverys safety standards and improvement initiativesLead and Oversee Life Cycle Cost and Asset StrategiesDevelop Life Cycle Cost profiles and finalize Life Cycle Cost Models to evaluate different scenarios and provide recommendations on decisions regarding asset design, purchase, maintenance and replacementCollaborate with capital projects teams regarding Design for Reliability, Operability and Maintainability (DROM), and Operational ReadinessReview and optimize asset strategies using detailed RCM or PMO methodologiesCollaborate with Asset Management Leadership groups to determine asset criticality and prioritize strategy developmentIdentify critical spares and provide recommendations regarding stock levelsEnsure development of appropriate risk mitigation plans for critical equipmentDeliver best practices for reliability initiatives at DiscoveryOwn the site Asset Management Defect Elimination program, ensuring reliability and defect elimination principles are ingrained across the Asset Management teamsUse formal root cause analysis approach to determine effective solutions and ensure learnings are shared across the portfolio to drive rapid replication of best practice.Continuous analysis of maintenance data to determine potential improvements across all AM elements, e.g. Work Management, Materials Management, etc.,Participates in strategic planning and preparation of annual maintenance and operating budgets.Responsible for Porcupines predictive maintenance program (oil analysis, vibration analysis, infrared technology)Develop and then maintain a site equipment reliability programSupport Asset Management area reliability leadsTraining and EducationBachelors degree in engineering or equivalent industry experienceValid 'G' driver's licenseERP system experience desirableStrong understanding of reliability principles and data driven insightsMinimum 10 years experience in asset management and maintenance practices.Minimum 5 years in a leadership role.Experience with manual and computerized maintenance planning systems.Experience with change, communication and knowledge management methodologiesExperience in implementing Asset Management principles and best practicesExperience with root cause analysis and development of effective solutions to reduce lossesExperience using analytical tools and processes that improve Asset Management performance, reliability and safety, reducing operating costs and maximizing return on assetsDemonstrated strong interpersonal skills and ability to drive performance improvement initiativesAbility to quickly assess information to diagnose problems and opportunities, with a track record of strong professional judgement and critical thinkingAbility to manage and influence stakeholders across different functionsDemonstrated ability to create data-driven business decisionsWe understand no candidate will meet every single desired qualification.
