We are seeking a labour lawyer with employment law experience to join our legal team as Corporate Counsel, reporting to the Assistant General Counsel. The role requires a minimum of 8 years experience. This is an excellent opportunity to serve as a strategic partner on a broad range of labour and employment issues. The successful candidate will join a supportive, friendly legal team that values personal and professional development within a corporate culture emphasizing growth and collaboration. What You'll Do... Provide labour law guidance to support various business functions. Prepare pleadings and legal documents for administrative and labour proceedings. Assist in employment law matters, including drafting employment agreements and policies. Identify legal and regulatory issues, collaborating cross-functionally to develop solutions. Represent Walmart before labour boards, tribunals, and courts as needed. Educate and train staff on legal requirements in partnership with HR, Associate Relations, and Compliance. Support cross-functional initiatives with legal and business advice. Manage external counsel effectively. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of labour law experience, preferably from a top law firm or in-house legal department, with exposure to human rights issues. Strong drafting, negotiation, and multitasking skills are essential. Excellent interpersonal skills and business acumen are important due to extensive interaction with HR and employee relations teams. Qualifications 8+ years of labour law experience, including human rights matters. Exceptional drafting and negotiation skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks. Strong business sense and interpersonal skills. French language skills are an asset. Licensing & Other Qualifications LL.B/J.D. and membership in good standing with the Law Society of BC.
