Journeyman Welder/Fabricator Full-Time | Alberta Location: Sylvan Lake, Alberta Company: CAKI Fabrication Ltd. Industry: Welding & Fabrication / Structural Steel / Custom Projects Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent Start Date: Negotiable We are currently seeking a skilled Journeyman Welder/Fabricator to join our new and growing team. This hands-on role requires advanced fabrication skills, strong welding abilities, and a high degree of independence and accountability. The ideal candidate will be experienced in reading blueprints, laying out and fitting components, and fabricating structural and custom metalwork to tight tolerances. Key Responsibilities: Perform welding using GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG), SMAW (Stick), and other processes as required Competent in welding aluminum and stainless steel Fabricate metal structures from start to finish, including layout, fitting, tacking, welding, and finishing Interpret and work from detailed technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications Use fabrication tools and machinery (e.g., band saws, brakes, shears, grinders, plasma cutters) with a high level of competency Ensure precise layout, fitting, and assembly of components Conduct routine equipment maintenance and inspections Communicate clearly, openly, directly, and frequently with customers, team members, and senior management to ensure expectations are met and projects remain on track Travel to off-site job locations as required Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Adhere to company and industry safety standards at all times Other duties as required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Licensed Journeyman Welder in Alberta Working toward Interprovincial Red Seal or CWB certification(s) Valid welding certifications in GMAW, GTAW, and SMAW, certified in all positions Advanced knowledge of fabrication techniques, metal forming, and material behavior Demonstrated experience in structural steel or custom fabrication Proficient in layout and fitting based on technical drawings Experience with general maintenance operations and fabrication repairs Highly flexible and capable of working in a fast-paced, diverse environment Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Strong ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Exceptional attention to detail and quality control Able to deal with people sensitively and professionally at all times Ability to work independently and take initiative Self-starter with a high sense of motivation and accountability Takes pride in producing high-quality, precise work Additional Requirements: Valid driver''s license; recent drivers abstract may be requested for insurance purposes Compliance with company drug and alcohol policy, including potential for random testing for safety-sensitive positions, as permitted under Alberta law Working Conditions: 24/7 availability may be required Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs Work may occur indoors, outdoors, at heights, and in active construction environments Exposure to welding/fabrication-related hazards Must always wear appropriate PPE and follow safety protocols Overtime may be required What We Offer: Competitive wages based on experience and certification Year-round, steady work with a wide variety of projects Opportunities for certification renewals and ongoing development Supportive team and leadership environment Health and dental benefits Tool allowance RRSP matching The potential for future advancement within the company as we grow To Apply: Please send your resume and cover letter outlining why you think youd be a great fit to .
