This position is a full-time, field-based role, reporting to the National Sales Director, serving Eastern Ontario (from Toronto east to Ottawa). Job Description: The Surgical Sales Representative is responsible in their territory for generating top-line revenues while maintaining profit margins for our line of ophthalmic medical devices & equipment. The focus areas are specialty surgeons, hospitals, regional health boards, buying groups and other health professionals. The Surgical Sales representative will regularly observe surgery to gain and maintain knowledge of the current medical art, and of the products being used to better support the products. The successful candidate must have a strong background in the complex selling environment, excellent interpersonal communication and consultative selling skills. Responsibilities: Meets and exceeds sales targets Builds strong customer relationships with all clients, including surgeons, nurses, procurement groups and hospital administrators Visits onsite with majority of field time spent in the OR with Anterior and Posterior Segment Surgeons Secures market access for all Labtician products, manufactured and commercialized within the hospital, health authorities, buying groups and private clinics Identifies new business opportunities and a clear ROI Builds relationships, develops and coordinates RFPs and tenders Required Skills: Performance-driven, results-oriented mindset with bias for action to drive sales and grow customer base Solid rapport building and strategic selling skills, coupled with an entrepreneurial mindset Strong analytical skills and business acumen, with an ability to identify insights and apply those insights to strategic territory and customer planning Customer-focused with the ability to develop and maintain relationships Ability to work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders/KOLs Demonstrates strategic thinking and multi-tasking (organization and time management skills) Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication skills Resourceful self-starter with a proven track-record of top sales performance Minimum Qualifications: B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent combination of experience and education required Broad knowledge of the Medical Device & Pharmaceutical Industries Minimum of 3-5 years of practical experience in the Sales and/or Marketing activities in the Ophthalmic, Medical Device and or Pharmaceutical and or optometric industries. Proven successful sales experience and ability to: identify decision makers and influence decisions, manage and prioritize workload, multi-task, manage a diverse mix of issues/challenges, manage budgets, expenses and execute plans, communicate scientific/clinical features and benefits of a product.
