Design Technologist Site Coordination Logistics Project Execution Overview Metric Design is seeking a highly detailed and technically skilled Design Project Operations & Technical Coordinator to join our growing design and renovation studio. This is a hands-on execution role that bridges the gap between design vision and on-site delivery. Role Summary You will support our design team with technical drawings, construction documentation, and on-site coordination. Youll manage logistics, product specifications, contractor communications, and site execution. This role requires strong AutoCAD or SketchUp skills, construction process knowledge, and experience working on active renovation sites. Key Responsibilities Create and revise technical drawings (AutoCAD/SketchUp) and layout plans Prepare permit documents and detailed spec packages Coordinate project logistics, material deliveries, and site installations Track orders, oversee deficiencies, and support warranty documentation Communicate with trades, clients, and suppliers to troubleshoot and execute Assist with estimating and budget reviews Organize site documentation and track schedules, scopes, and reports Work closely with the design team to ensure smooth site handoffs Provide field support, including site measurements and inspections Maintain technical files and organize project folders Requirements & Skills 5+ years of experience in design-build, residential construction, or renovation projects Proficiency in AutoCAD and construction estimating tools Skilled with SketchUp/Layout, Buildertrend (or similar software) Strong understanding of project coordination and sequencing Comfortable in job site environments and working directly with trades Excellent time management and communication skills Experience preparing blueprints, technical drawings, and project documentation Previous experience in a technical coordinator or project delivery role is preferred Job Details Job Type: Full-time Location: Saskatoon, SK (in-person) Salary: $60,000$75,000 per year Education: AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (required) Experience: AutoCAD 5 years (required); Project management 2 years (preferred) Language: English (required) License: Valid Drivers License (required) Benefits Flexible schedule RRSP match Company pension Disability insurance Staff discounts Company events and team culture
