We're seeking a resourceful and experienced Human Resources Generalist to support our Canadian operations.About the RoleWere looking for a highly organized and adaptable Human Resources Generalist to provide comprehensive support to our Calgary-based employees and serve as the local HR point of contact. This role is responsible for delivering day-to-day HR operations, ensuring compliance with Canadian labor laws, coordinating administrative functions, and fostering a positive workplace culture. You will also collaborate closely with the U.S. HR function to ensure alignment of policies, procedures, and company-wide initiatives.ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary HR contact for the Calgary office, supporting all employees and departments locally.Collaborate with the Sr. HR Manager in Houston to ensure seamless communication, policy alignment, and reporting across regions.Ensure compliance with Canadian labor laws, employment standards, and provincial regulations, including maintaining accurate records and ensuring company policies reflect legal requirements.Manage and coordinate benefits administration for Canadian employees, including enrollment, changes, and annual renewals in partnership with benefits providers.Support the recruitment process for Canadian roles: create and post job listings, coordinate interviews, conduct reference checks, and facilitate new hire onboarding.Partner with managers to support employee relations, performance conversations, and day-to-day HR inquiries.Coordinate and facilitate training programs, including onboarding, compliance training, and occasional professional development sessions.Assist in the development and administration of HR policies, procedures, and documentation for the Canadian office.Provide payroll support by ensuring accurate employee data, processing changes, and acting as a liaison between the Canadian payroll provider and the Accounting Team.Track and manage employee records, leaves of absence, vacation balances, and time-off policies in alignment with regional guidelines.Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity when managing employee matters and handling HR documentation.Support HR reporting and metrics tracking, including headcount, turnover, training compliance, and employee satisfaction.Lead or support local employee engagement initiatives, wellness efforts, and events to foster a strong culture.Assist with annual audits, including compliance, payroll, and benefits reporting, as needed.Perform other HR-related duties and projects as assigned.Qualifications Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.Minimum of 35 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a generalist role supporting Canadian employees.Strong knowledge of Alberta and federal Canadian employment laws, labor standards, and HR best practices.Experience with benefits administration, recruitment, and payroll coordination in a Canadian setting.Exceptional organizational and time management skills; able to balance multiple priorities across regions.Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively across time zones and teams.Proficiency in HRIS platforms (experience with Rippling is a plus).Experience supporting team members is preferred.CHRP or CHRL designation (completed or in progress) is an asset.Why Join Us?Collaborative Culture: Be part of a tight-knit, team committed to continuous improvement and people-first leadership.Cross-Border Impact: Help shape HR practices across Canada and the U.S. while being embedded in a growing Calgary-based team.Professional Growth: Gain exposure to a wide variety of HR disciplines and initiatives.Total Compensation: We offer competitive salary, benefits, and a supportive environment that values your contributions.Work Authorization RequirementApplicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis.Privacy & Equal Opportunity StatementDetechtion Technologies is committed to maintaining a diverse and inclusive workplace.
