If you thrive in complex technical environments and want your work to have lasting environmental impact, this may be the right fit.Key Responsibilities:1)Commissioning & Re-CommissioningLead and support commissioning and re-commissioning processes for mechanical, electrical, and control systemsConduct functional performance testing and system verification to ensure buildings operate as designedIdentify performance gaps and provide actionable recommendations to improve system efficiency2)Project CoordinationWork closely with internal teams, contractors, engineers, and building operators to deliver commissioning deliverablesCoordinate project documentation, test procedures, and issue logs throughout the commissioning lifecycleManage multiple concurrent projects, tracking progress, and ensuring deadlines are met3)Technical Review & ReportingAnalyze design documents, submittals, and equipment specifications for conformance with owner requirementsPrepare commissioning plans, reports, and system deficiency lists in line with industry standardsDocument and track commissioning activities clearly and consistently4)Construction Oversight & Proactive MaintenanceSupport optimization of building systems to reduce energy consumption and GHG emissionsAssist with measurement and verification of energy-saving measuresRecommend upgrades and retrofits to improve long-term performance5)Stakeholder EngagementServe as a key technical advisor to the client, representing SPG in a professional and proactive mannerFacilitate collaboration among contractors, consultants, and building operatorsCommunicate commissioning findings and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholdersPrepare and deliver well-documented reports and updates6)Technology IntegrationStay current with emerging building technologies, automation systems, and energy management practicesLeverage building performance data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvementApply data analytics to interpret system behavior and support evidence-based recommendationsCollaborate with internal and client teams to implement solutions that enhance performance and reduce emissionsContribute to the development of tools or processes that improve data visibility and operational insightsWhat You BringMinimum Requirements35+ years of experience in building commissioning, re-commissioning, or systems optimizationStrong technical understanding of HVAC, controls, lighting, and other base building systemsA data-driven mindset with a passion for uncovering patterns and performance insights through analyticsFamiliarity with ASHRAE guidelines and commissioning best practicesExcellent documentation, coordination, and communication skillsStrong client-facing skills with a track record of building trusted relationshipsAbility to manage multiple projects with competing deadlinesValid drivers license and flexibility to travel to client sites as requiredCandidates with adjacent experience in building systems, energy performance, or mechanical design who are eager to grow into a commissioning-focused role are encouraged to apply.Bonus Points For:Hands-on experience with building automation systems and controls troubleshootingExperience in the multi-unit residential or commercial real estate sectorKnowledge of energy modeling, M&V practices, or low-carbon retrofit projectsProfessional designation (e.g., CxA, P.Eng, CET, LEED AP)Familiarity analytics platformsSPGs Core Values in Action:1.
