These include new product (or feature) identification and evaluation, reporting & data analysis, operational enhancements, growth/marketing analysis, and leading/supporting on elements of departmental projects. The Associate Product Manager will also help maintain, update, and amend procedure/departmental guidelines and policies as required.These projects usually involve cross-functional teams and contribute to the overall strategy (or compliance) and direction of the businesses. The incumbent will use their analytical abilities to provide both qualitative and quantitative input supporting the development of recommendations and implementation for Senior Management.The core parts of your role would be to:Product Development and Expansion:Work alongside the Product Manager, underwriters, and Business leads to stay up to speed on competitive and industry landscapeDevelop product and industry expertise in the Canadian Insurance Lending and Reverse Mortgage spaces, helping to identify new products and product enhancements to round out the product suiteIdentify potentially meaningful product additions, improvements, and tweaks. Make recommendations to leadership teamPerform required analysis (i.e. cost benefit) to determine the reward associated with implementing product additions vs. the associated cost and effortLead discovery, business casing, and execution to bring the products to market in a timely mannerWork independently, and act as the owner for elements of larger projects and as project lead on other initiativesInteract with key business stakeholders to ensure that all additions are regulatory compliant, and can be adequately managed by existing resourcesOperational Support and Improvements:Identify opportunities to improve/automate key processes and calculators. Implement changes with the input of key stakeholders as necessaryLead updates and amendments to various calculators (i.e. CSV and IFA underwriting, reverse mortgage online calculator), working with internal stakeholders and external resources as required through testing and implementationMonitor any concerns, or opportunities for improvements. Make decisions to tweak as necessary at need to be implementedEvaluate opportunities to improve all key operation processes. Prepare and lead business case, and recommendation. Make recommendations to Product Manager, and lead implementation process as applicableReporting and Data Analysis:Own ongoing reporting requirements, sending weekly updates to broader management teamWork alongside Personal Banking Strategy team to continue to refine automated reportingOn an ongoing basis, identify gaps in current reporting. Work to develop new reports to eliminate gapsIdentify key insights from reporting data. Recommend strategies, tactics, or other improvements to management when necessarySales Support and Growth/Marketing:On an ongoing basis monitor the effectiveness of key sales tools.
