The Thales Ottawa office has been a major supplier and long-term trusted partner to DND, enabling the Canadian Armed Forces and the Canadian Coast Guard to achieve mission success.This position is Hybrid in Ottawa.Engineering Delivery ManagerPosition SummaryThe Engineering Delivery Manager (EDM) is responsible for managing and directly overseeing the technical execution of the project, delivering within the approved budget and schedule. Additionally, the EDM works closely with the Project Design Authority (PDA) and the Project Manager (PM) to execute effectively.Key Areas of ResponsibilityContribute to Bids / Estimates for projects and changes.Responsible for the technical program deliverables.Define the Engineering team's WBS and OBS, the engineering lifecycle, the schedule of work, and the Engineering Management Plan (includes Software Development Plan); lead the team to achieve project stage reviews and milestones within budget, schedule, and quality standards.Provide strong technical leadership to ensure solutions meet requirements and achieve customer acceptance, accreditation, and certification; manage project and technical risks and opportunities.Implement objective and predictive monitoring to enable early issue and risk identification, with recovery actions to ensure on-time, acceptable delivery.Ensure all activities are conducted safely, addressing equipment and personnel safety in line with legal and company requirements.Collaborate with the wider project team, alliance partners, customers/end-users, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure successful delivery against commitments; work with the EDM team to deploy best practices and tools for Work Package Management.Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.9+ years of engineering experience, including 3+ years in technical management.Experience with the V-Model / Waterfall and/or Scrum Agile methodologies; estimating technical work; resource loading; risk management; planning, delegating, and controlling technical work; configuration and data management.Preferred QualificationsSoftware development experience in back-end web applications with Java web services; experience with REST API creation/manage.Experience defining and implementing Business Process Automation (BPA); familiarity with TCDS EDM tools such as Jira, DOORS, Windchill, Palma, PowerBI; experience delivering fixed firm and T&M contracts; working with in-service support contracts; experience updating workflows, processes, change management, and project closure.P.
