With a team of driven and dedicated professionals, this organization offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including extended health coverage for dental, health, and vision.YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS PURCHASING MANAGER:Manage a multi-million-dollar annual purchasing spend for up to 3000 skus (fibre optical cables/wires, electronics, metal enclosures and housing, plastics, hardware components)Manage suppliers: build existing relationships and expand the vendor-base by researching and sourcing new suppliers (500+ supplier base)Forecast and plan lead times with vendors to ensure materials are available to meet constant swings in customer manufacturing demandContinually communicate with key suppliers and source secondary suppliers when necessary; Local, National and International sourcingDevelop and manage cost optimization strategies within the supply base, including portfolio consolidations and pricing negotiationGenerate purchase orders within the ERP system for a variety of raw materials and hardware componentsCollaborate with Warehouse Manager to ensure optimal inventory levels and to mitigate delays in productionLead continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiencies and reduce costs within the purchasing departmentPrepare pricing packages for Sales departmentWHAT WERE LOOKING FOR IN A PURCHASING MANAGER:5+ years of progressive purchasing experience (preference for industrial manufacturing sector)Post-secondary education in purchasing (PMAC) or supply chain (SCMP) is an assetStrong problem-solving skills to optimize minimal turnaround time with vendorsProven relationship-building with key internal and external stakeholdersExperience leading projects in purchasing and implementing cost-saving initiativesDemonstrated urgency and confidence in decision-makingBig-picture thinker with adaptability to new challenges and a results-driven approachAPPLY NOW!Send a resume (quoting job number #22292) to Dan LaBelle, Senior Recruitment Consultant and Trainer at PINNACLE:Does your current job harness your full potential?
