The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Senior Advisor will work closely with the Construction and Project Management teams in the safe planning and execution of work for the Pickering A Turbine Hall & Turbine Auxiliary Bay Non-Nuclear Component Removal Project. Reporting to the EHS Director, the EHS Senior Advisor is responsible for taking a leadership role in promoting a strong culture of environmental protection, health, safety, and continuous improvement. What You''ll Do Here Work directly with construction and project management to support accountability in relation to EHS Develop & maintain schedule and quality oversight of specific conventional safety and environmental management plans, procedures, and committees including; inspections, audits, observation and coaching, Worker Trades Committee, and JHSC Coordinate and communicate event management and project needs where required Ensure project safety-related problems or issues are dealt with appropriately and in a timely manner Train project staff in the requirements of conventional safety procedures Track and report safety-related statistics, manage Return to Work, Modified duties cases at the field level Ensure that EHS metrics (leading and lagging indicators) are regularly compiled, trended, and reviewed with the EHS Director, operational project teams, and the OPG Safety Department. Additional detailed requirements as outlined in the Project Specific EHS and related programs Support Human Performance program activities Assist in development of JSA, High Hazard, Critical Lifting, and Handling forms, and audit same in the field What You Bring To The Team Minimum 4 years of experience in Health and Safety within the construction industry Relevant Post Secondary education or equivalent experience in the H&S field A designation such as CRSP, CRST, CHSO, or Gold Seal is an asset but not a requirement A leader in Environmental Health and Safety A Team Player that is adaptable and flexible to a fast-paced and ever-changing environment Be a champion of inclusion and diversity Background in Training, Education, and/or experience delivering EHS Training programs to individuals and groups is considered an asset Experience in a Nuclear Generating Station or Nuclear environment is considered an asset OPG/Bruce Power or other Nuclear Security Clearance would be considered an asset Experience working in a unionized environment Emergency Planning and Hot Work Procedures This position requires the successful candidate to be in the field observing work, requiring the ability to walk in excess of 3 km per day, climb a minimum of 3 flights of stairs, and occasionally climb ladders.
