About the CompanyIt is the responsibility of the Sales Engineer (SE), to accurately select and define product and project design requirements through the review of plans and specifications. The SE, will develop designs to meet customer needs aligned with internal production standards based on application specific mechanical and process requirements. The SE, will assist in preparing budgetary, design build, and final firm bid costing estimates for all projects within the Canadian Municipal and Industrial markets. The SE, will also provide technical support to the Regional Sales Director (RSD), cross functional team members and Canadian Representatives including, but not limited to: sizing & selection of appropriate HUBER Technology LTD. equipment, hydraulic information/calculations, drawings and layout, and all technical information associated with products in the HUBER Technology portfolio. The SE, will also assist with Project Management and customer Pilot testing equipment support. The SE, will work aligned with the support team for sales and manufacturing at the headquarter of HUBER SE located in Germany, to ensure all procedures and processes are followed to accomplish assigned tasks. The SE, will work under the supervision of the Managing Director Canada. The SE, will be located in the headquarters office in the Greater Toronto area. This position requires infrequent travel within the Canada, Germany and the USA. The SE, should have the ability to read, and understand and interpret technical specifications and documentation in English. Fluency in French would be asset. He/she should be customer focused, results-oriented and be able to execute his/her daily tasks in a reasonable timeframe with accuracy. Strong communication skills will be paramount for this role.About the RoleESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms other work-related duties as assigned.Interpret municipal and/or sludge and industrial customer requirements, facility process, material requirements, time requirements, tolerances, quality issues, and cost considerations.Investigate previously completed similar projects.Review plans, specifications and other customer documentation to develop and prepare cost estimates and a detailed HUBER Technology LTD. scope of supply.Maintain for each project, thorough commercial and technical details in accordance to company standard operating processes and procedures.Coordinate design activities with other HUBER team members including but not limited to HUBER SE in Germany.Provide recommendations relative to project strategy, design considerations based on project scope, schedule and process requirements.Work aligned with HUBER project team members to develop a successful bid strategy that meets the customers needs.Submit pricing and proposal documents for review and approval before submission to the customer.Participate in various project meetings both internally and externally.Active use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) for each bid and proposal.Answer customer technical questions on submitted HUBER proposals and provide timely support to all internal and external stakeholders.Maintain up-to-date familiarity with markets, products and competition.Organize customer Pilot Test projects and co-ordinate with the Headquarter Huber SE service team in Germany.Project management execution by working closely with internal stakeholders and third party vendors for the preparation of approval/revised & final drawings, vendor data requirements, testing, certifications, specification compliance and co-ordinational of field services such as; start-up, installation & training support.Participate in customer presentations either in person or via online meetings. Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has no supervision responsibilities.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting, however; could be exposed to other elements such as dust, noise or other elements on a customer site or the warehouse floor. It is recommended that vaccinations be up to date for tetanus, Hepatitis A & B. In addition to this, SE will travel to Wastewater Treatment Facilities, where they will carry out testing on site Wastewater and/or Sludge (Biosolids).Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The SE, should be capable of working under pressure to meet bid & project deadlines. In addition, the SE should be able perform necessary duties at Tradeshows and Conference locations, if requested. They must be able to concentrate for extended periods of time paying close attention to detail and accuracy. The SE must possess excellent verbal, auditory and visual capabilities to adequately communicate via phone and in person as well in Customer and Company presentations. The SE must be able to move freely from client site, to field sites and the office and manufacturing facility as needed. The SE must be able to lift up to 20 kgs.Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a Full-Time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday Friday, 8am to 5pm.TravelTravel will be limited to the Canadian market for customer meetings, training, site visits and tradeshows as required. International trips for training opportunities to Germany will occur as well as potential opportunities to the USA for major tradeshows.Required Education, Experience and SkillsBachelors Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical or Civil).Related work experience in Application Engineering, Inside Technical Sales, or other relevant technical support is desired.Knowledge of Wastewater Treatment processes is an asset.Exposure to Sales in the Wastewater Treatment market or related field is a plus.Understanding of Headworks Screening and Sludge Treatment mechanical equipment is a plus. Skills and AbilitiesExcellent written and oral communication skills in English (French fluency is an asset).Excellent organizational and time management skills.Natural ability to be self-motivated and self-directed.Strong computer skills.Knowledge and proficiency with all MS-Office suite applications.Familiarity with technical specification and plan review a plus.Ability to work independently as well as in a team oriented environment.Desire to learn new skills.
