Since 1982, Covenant House has supported more than 100,000 young people. Overview: The Supervisor, Thrive Program is responsible for the direct implementation of Covenant Houses philosophy, mission statement, and policies as they pertain to transitional housing. Job Responsibilities: Manage the daily shift and supervise approximately 5 full-time and 8 part-time staff. Coordinate and monitor training of new team members. Oversee safety, security, contents, and emergency situations within the building. Ensure threats to youth safety are properly managed by staff. Conduct interviews of potential employees, evaluate observation shifts, and participate in the selection process. Ensure staff adherence to Covenant Houses policies and procedures. Manage teams work concerning intakes, assessments, and discharges. Ensure case management issues are appropriately addressed. Oversee youth discharges and admissions to the shelter. Make recommendations for case action plans. Manage petty cash float, pre-sto cards, and taxi chits. Engage with youth and role model the Trauma-Informed Approach to care. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Experience: College or university degree or diploma in child and youth work or equivalent. Minimum four years experience in a shelter or residential setting. Minimum 3 years experience in a supervisory role. Knowledge of adolescent developmental theory and issues related to street youth. First Aid, CPR, and basic computer skills are assets. Ability to identify, assess, and intervene with youth in crisis. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of community resources.
