AboutOur client, a prominent commercial real estate firm, is looking to hire a fully on-site Insurance Claims Manager for its Commercial Properties (Office and Industrial) in Surrey.Duties:Oversee and manage the entire process of commercial property claims, from initiation through to resolution.Act as the main point of contact between the organization and external insurance companies, brokers, and adjusters.Ensure timely reporting of claims to the insurance company as per policy terms and organizational procedures.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all claims, including details, status, and outcomes.Assess and investigate the validity of claims to ensure they are in compliance with company policies and insurance guidelines.Analyze potential risks and exposures related to property claims and suggest mitigation strategies.Collaborate with insurance adjusters, brokers, and external stakeholders to ensure proper handling of claims.Negotiate settlements, settlements offers, and final resolutions on behalf of the company.Review insurance policies to ensure that the company is adequately covered and understands the scope of coverage for each property.Provide guidance on claim coverage, exclusions, and policy terms to relevant internal departments.Recommend and implement strategies to mitigate potential risks to commercial property, reducing the likelihood of future claims.Manage any disputes between the organization and external insurance parties, seeking resolutions that benefit the company.Coordinate legal involvement if necessary, ensuring appropriate steps are taken to resolve claims-related conflicts.Must haves:Min. 3 years of experience working in insurance or risk management, preferably within the commercial property or real estate sector.Experience handling property and casualty insurance, liability claims, and property-related policies is crucial.Strong negotiation skills for dealing with brokers, underwriters, and insurance companies.Knowledge of insurance policies and coverages specific to commercial properties (e.g., property damage, business interruption, liability insurance).Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially when coordinating between various stakeholders like brokers, property managers, and tenants.Analytical skills to evaluate coverage, assess risks, and ensure optimal protection for the company's portfolio.Familiarity with contract terms and the legal side of insurance policies is important.Attention to detail and problem-solving ability to navigate insurance claims and policy discrepancies.Ability to work under pressure when managing claims, renewals, or compliance issues.
