Reporting to the Director, Windsor the Asphalt Production/Quality Manager will manage 2 GIP Asphalt plants, one laboratory, overseeing daily production operations to produce high-quality, cost-effective asphalt products.Primary Scope of Role :Ensure a safe working environment and promote safety initiatives within the Hot Mix Asphalt Quality Control group.Manage the usage of raw materials such as sand, gravel, asphalt cement, additives, and recycled materials.Reporting product usage and inventory to accounting.Support the development of Quality Control technicians.Manage and supervise plant personnel in order to meet production targets.Implement cost control measures while maintaining product quality.Oversee and manage equipment maintenance and make recommendations for improvementTroubleshoot asphalt mix issues at plants and in the field.Ensure environmental compliance and reporting.Schedule Quality Control personnel.Lead Key Performance Indicators such as mix optimization, design optimization, and recycling efficiencyMaintain knowledge of asphalt drum and batch plants and all related facilities.Collaborate with laboratory personnel to develop and implement quality control procedures.Maintain laboratory certifications and leading quality control performance and process initiatives.Keeping up to date with industry developments and implementing new technologies.Position Requirements:Bachelors degree in civil engineering, Materials Science, or related field.Minimum 5 years of experience in asphalt production or testingThorough understanding of MTO LS, ASTM, and AASHTO procedures.Strong knowledge of raw materials procurement and cost control.Knowledge of municipal and MTO specifications.Results-driven with an ability to deliver success in a fast-paced environment.Outcome focused, critical thinker with the ability to analyse and visualize to ensure continuous improvement across our business.Ability to connect and interact with people to seek different perspectives.Superb communication and interpersonal skillsStrong ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple competing priorities.Demonstrate versatility and resourcefulness in overcoming business challenges.Success PredictorsAnalytical mindset.Versatile and resourceful problem solver.Proactive and self-motivated.Effective communicator, confident in engaging with all levels of the companAbout UsOur PeopleAt Green Infrastructure Partners (GIP), our people are second to none.
