PGL Environmental Consultants is seeking an Entry / Junior Level Environmental Consultant to join our team. This role is based out of Whitby, ON. PGL employees work a 37.5-hour work week, and all employees have the option to work from home or either office as and when needed. Responsibilities:Soil, groundwater, surface water, and soil vapour sampling;Drilling investigations (Phase II ESAs);Environmental monitoring, including water quality sampling, construction supervision, and liaising with site personnel, clients, and regulatory agencies;Site remediation;Budgeting, reporting;Reviewing policies and systems; andContributing to PGLs corporate initiatives. As training progresses, you will be expected to supervise remediation and drilling contractors.Hands on experience in the field will progress towards project management, directing others in the field and preparing reports.As your career develops, report writing, and client contact will become an important component of the position. Ideally, we are seeking candidates with strong people skills and the ability to work in a team environment. Interest in gaining consulting experience is required. Job Requirements:Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Engineering (chemical, geological, geotechnical, environmental), Geology, Soil Science, Environmental Science, related engineering discipline or Toxicology.0 - 2 years of consulting experience with exposure to contaminated site assessments.Ability to register as a professional (in-training) in the Province of ON is an asset.Comfortable working on job sites (including but not limited to construction sites, gas stations, around traffic and heavy equipment).Experience with soil and groundwater testing and hydrogeology is an asset but not a requirement.Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office suite products. Knowledge of EsDat is an asset but not a requirement.Excellent internal and external client service skills.Valid Drivers license required.Ability to travel and work in potentially remote locations, generally in the province of ON.
