This position combines specialized mechanical and electrical skills to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair our manufacturing equipment and systems. The ideal candidate will possess both millwright and electrician certifications and have experience in industrial settings, particularly in steel fabrication.Type of Employment:Full time/Permanent directly on the clients payroll.Benefits:Dental carePaid VacationExtended health careLife insuranceRRSP matchingPay: Rate is $42-$50 per hour.Location: Niagara Region (St. Catherine's)Hours of work:Full-time position, Monday to Friday with a rotation to afternoon shift once per month, as well as on-call responsibilities during weekendsMay require occasional weekend work for major repairs or installationsWork is performed in a manufacturing facility with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperaturesPersonal Protective Equipment (PPE) required at all times on the production floorSome tasks may require working at heights or in confined spacesOvertime: Overtime is paid at a rate of time and a half (x1.5) for hours worked in excess of 44 hours per weekDuties and Responsibilities:Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical components of manufacturing machinery and equipmentRead and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manualsPerform preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure continuous operationDiagnose malfunctions using diagnostic tools and testing instrumentsInstall, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and equipmentWire controls and equipment according to electrical code requirementsCalibrate precision instruments and equipment componentsRespond to emergency breakdown calls and perform repairs to minimize downtimeMonitor inventory of parts and supplies and order replacements as neededDocument maintenance and repair activities, parts usage, and equipment historyCollaborate with production teams to coordinate planned maintenance schedulesEnsure compliance with all safety regulations and company proceduresTrain and mentor junior technicians as requiredOther duties as assignedQualifications:Valid 433A Industrial Millwright & 442A Industrial Electrician licenses (Dual Ticket required)Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an industrial setting, preferably in steel fabricationStrong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in electrical systemsExperience with hydraulic and pneumatic systemsProficiency with precision measuring instrumentsKnowledge of PLC controls and automation systemsAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and manualsExperience with welding and fabrication an assetKnowledge of applicable safety regulations and proceduresStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailExcellent communication and teamwork abilitiesPhysical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various positionsWork EnvironmentTo apply please email your resume to Denushka Punchihewa at dpunchihewa@cantech.agencyCTS 1
