In this role, you will be a trusted advisor and guardian of the Bank by delivering high caliber and specialized transactional and advisory legal services to, and manage legal, regulatory and reputational risks, for supported businesses. The successful candidate will advise on a broad range of securitization, asset acquisition and finance, mortgage-aggregation and over-the-counter derivatives related legal matters in a fast-paced, high volume business environment.Your RoleLearning about the regulation of NBCs securitization, asset acquisition and finance, mortgage aggregation and derivative activities across Canada to assist with monitoring and addressing applicable statutory requirements and managing legal risksProviding legal support to NBCs Asset Acquisition and Finance, Securitization, Mortgage Derivatives Business, Risk Management Solutions Group and Global Securities Finance teamsSupporting the development, structuring and documentation of public/private securitization transactions, asset acquisition and finance transactions, mortgage aggregation transactions and other complex and structured derivative transactionsParticipating in legislative, business or industry initiatives representing NBCs legal interestsCoordinate with and managing internal and external stakeholders including, legal, regulatory, compliance, taxation and accountingYour teamOn the Specialized Transactions and Products, Legal team, you will work with a team of 15 lawyers and paralegals located in both Toronto and Montreal. You will be based in the Toronto office and report directly to the Managing Director, Specialized Transactions and Products, Legal, who is also located in the Toronto office.
