This key position works in close collaboration with the Executive Director and the leadership team responsible for managing a small team overseeing all communications and governance functions. Equally, acts as the public-facing representative responsible for both internal and external communications, strategic partnerships, and strategic objectives.Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute strategic plans, annual budgets, and operational goals.- Oversee communications and public relations, managing websites, online news channels, and social media.- Supervise and mentor a small team, fostering a collaborative work environment.- Lead the preparation of Board materials for the Executive Director's review with a focus to ensure effective oversight. - Manage relationships with vendors and service providers.- Coordinate and participate in Board meetings, annual meetings, committees, and working groups.- Oversee the design, production, and translation of internal and external publications.- Conduct environmental scanning to stay ahead of emerging trends and industry developments.- Plan and execute in-person Board and committee meetings, including logistics and contract approvals.Qualifications:- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Communications or a related field,combined with understanding of governance principles and practices.- 10+ years of experience in strategic communications; 5+ years in a leadership role.- Strong written communication skills in English are essential; crafting clear, consistent and professional content.
