Relocation to Marathon, Ontario is required.Some of the many things being offered:+Competitive Salary+Comprehensive relocation package (Candidates residing in Canada)+Residential allowance+STI Bonus+LTI Bonus+PensionThe Planning and Reliability Superintendent will lead a team responsible for developing high-quality, comprehensive short-, medium-, and long-term mine plans. These plans must be delivered in a timely manner and be both practical and optimized to support safe, efficient mining operations. In addition, this role will oversee the maintenance reliability team, ensuring a high standard of asset health through the implementation and continuous improvement of best practices.This position requires strong leadership and collaboration skills, as the Superintendent will work closely with technical, operational, logistical, administrative, and financial teams across the organization. Effective communication and cross-functional coordination are essential to success in this role.A strong commitment to environmental stewardship and safety is critical. The Superintendent must ensure that all technical projects are thoroughly planned, well-designed, and effectively executed. Projects should be communicated clearly, tracked diligently, and delivered to a high professional standardon time and within budgetwhile meeting the strategic needs of the business.Primary responsibilities and tasks:Work in a collaborative and productive manner with stakeholdersStructure and develop the planning and reliability teams which is technically capable, engaged, effective, efficient and fit for purpose.Review plans to ensure that they are accurate, optimized, and practical.Lead team through RCFA, shut down postmortems and asset strategy enhancements based on condition monitoring and data analysis.Evaluate and monitor costs and schedules and make recommendations for cost savings and opportunities to bring the project deliverables ahead of scheduleMaintain all contracts, AFE and purchase orders required.Ensure that critical paths of projects are completed timely by working closely with subcontractors, consultants, and vendorsMaking strategic decisions through analysis, business case development, modelling and impactful communicationResponds to a variety of internal and/or external requests, which will require advanced problem-solving approachPerform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performedInspect all areas regularly to monitor activities and assist in future planningPeriodically review fundamental goals/justification/assumptions to ensure ongoing validity of the planning cycle in an evolving business environment.Aim to have a robust system and department in place with established personnel in the key roles, appropriate written procedures, and with a succession plan, within 12 to 18 months.QUALIFICATIONS8-10 years of Mining Engineering experience.Demonstrated understanding of engineering theories and principles.Strong presentation, oratory, and verbal skills.Able to communicate ideas and recommendations to team members in a clear manner.Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization, including executives.Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.Able to create alternative solutions to problems.Excellent time management and project management skills.High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning.Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures.Effective leadership skills required.Mechanical Engineer or Trade Certification with relevant experience.
