Job Title

As a Claims Adjuster, you will be responsible for investigating and resolving property damage liability claims from customers and subrogated insurers. This includes preparing Small Claims Court legal documents, representing the company at small claims pre-trials, and acting as a witness at Superior Court examinations for discovery and Small Claims Court trials. Key Responsibilities: Receiving and reviewing incoming calls and emails from customers Communicating with customers by phone and email to arrange for remediation of property damage Working with emergency contractors to provide emergency property remediation services to customers and to obtain repair estimates Collaborating with the company''s field team to investigate claims, including gathering and preserving evidence Settling property damage claims with customers when necessary Reviewing and responding to Small Claims Court proceedings from subrogated insurers for property damage claims, including preparing Defences Communicating with subrogated insurer adjusters and legal counsel to investigate and settle Small Claims Court proceedings Contacting potentially liable third-parties to seek indemnification Assisting the Claims Manager with escalated customer complaints Qualifications: Excellent customer service skills and strong communication abilities Strong investigation and negotiation skills Sound oral and written advocacy skills Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) essential Familiarity with the insurance estimating system; Xactimate preferred Understanding of the insurance property damage subrogation process Knowledge of or experience in Small Claims Court an asset Paralegal license an asset Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package DC Pension Plan Savings match plan Enercare is an equal opportunity employer committed to operating in an environmentally responsible way.
