The Lynde Institute for Dermatology The Lynde Institute for Dermatology is a full-service, multidisciplinary dermatology clinic under the care of our Chief Medical Director, Dr. Charles W. Lynde. Our team of healthcare professionals includes dermatologists, family physicians, nurses, medical estheticians, and a plastic surgeon. Lynde Dermatology & Esthetics prides itself on providing scientific, evidence-based dermatology solutions for its patients. Our clinical team works collaboratively with our team of physicians to deliver the best care possible to our patients. Clinical AssistantAs a member of the clinical team, the clinical assistant works cooperatively with all team members to support the clinic and its operations, including physicians and patients. The clinical assistant is directly responsible for sterilization, patch-testing administration, minor-skin surgery assistance, safely administering narrowband-UVB phototherapy treatment and iontophoresis and/or administration of photodynamic therapy. In the surgical setting, the clinical assistant will work under the direction of, the in-house plastic surgeon, Dr. Richard Backstein as well as the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Charles Lynde. In the clinical setting, the clinical assistant will operate the narrowband-UVB phototherapy machines and iontophoresis devices and patch testing as directed by a referring in-house physician and under the guidance of Dr. Charles Lynde. The clinical assistant will report directly to the Operations Manager and/or Senior Manager. Qualifications:Minimum 1-2 years experience in a clinical or medical settingKnowledge of medical terminology and abbreviationsWell-developed communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExperience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) platforms considered an assetHighly organized, detail-oriented, with strong time management capabilitiesAbility to adapt to a fast-paced environmentPassion for patient focused evidence-based medicineHigh level of professionalismHigh level of proficiency in customer serviceA willingness to learn new techniques and develop procedural skillsProficient computer skillsDemonstrated ability to work effectively within an inter-professional team as well as independentlyResponsibilities/Tasks:Participation in training events (online and in-person), as well as practical learning initiativesPlastic SurgeryPlastic surgery related administrative tasks such as scheduling, billing, faxing, documentation etc.Disinfection of surgical roomsPassing surgical equipment as directed by the attending physicianMaintaining a sterile fieldWound care and stitch removal as directed by the attending physicianPatient education regarding pre- and post-procedural careAnswering general minor-skin surgery related inquiriesOther Clinical TasksSterilization of equipmentDisinfection of treatment rooms and equipmentPatient education on treatment details, relevant side effects, adverse events and or other risks involved for phototherapy, patch testing, iontophoresis and/or photodynamic therapyAdverse event reporting to the attending physicianAdministrative tasks such as such as scheduling, billing, faxing, documentation etc.Follow all clinical procedure guidelines working under the direction of the on-site attending physicianLaundering surgical towels and gownsAvailable to work Monday through Friday beginning at 7:30amCompensation:Remuneration will be assessed and offered based on education level, clinical experience, and applicable skillsetsHourly base pay and vacation pay following a bi-weekly pay scheduleWe thank all candidates for their interest, however only those considered for an interview will be contacted.
