As part of this transformation, we are making significant investments into our data platforms, common data models, data structures, and data policies to increase the quality of our data, the confidence of our business teams to use this data, and to drive value through data utilization.We have a new and ambitious global Digital & Data group, which serves as a resource to the business teams across regions and global functions. We are currently recruiting an experienced Data Architect to build the enterprise data model for McCain.JOB PURPOSE:Reporting to the Data Architect Lead, the Global Data Architect will take a lead role in creating the enterprise data model for McCain Foods. This involves integrating data assets across agriculture, manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial sectors. The data model will serve as the foundation for our analytics program, which aims to unify McCains operational data sets with third-party data to enable world-class analytics. You will collaborate with data governance experts, data integration architects, data engineers, and our analytics team, including data scientists, to develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models that support the activities of the Global Digital & Data team.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop an understanding of McCains key data assets and collaborate with the data governance team to document these in our enterprise data catalog.Work with business stakeholders to build a conceptual business model by understanding end-to-end processes, challenges, and future plans.Collaborate with application architects to incorporate analytics perspectives into application design.Develop logical data models based on business requirements and align them with business teams.Coordinate with technical teams to build physical data models, establish data lineage, and maintain relevant documentation.Establish processes to manage models and controls effectively.Enhance and expand the enterprise data model based on legacy on-premises analytics products and new cloud data products, including advanced analytics models.Design key enterprise conformed dimensions and ensure understanding across data engineering teams and third parties; keep data catalog and wiki tools current.Serve as the primary contact for new Digital and IT programs to ensure alignment with the enterprise data model.Contribute to shaping McCains cloud migration strategy, enabling advanced analytics and leading Business Intelligence initiatives.Work closely with data engineers to ensure best practices in data modeling are followed.MEASURES OF SUCCESS:Proven history of driving change in a large, global organization.Passion for well-structured and well-governed data, with the ability to explain business risks related to complex mapping tables.Expertise in designing and maintaining conformed dimension tables.Focus on use-case driven prioritization; ability to challenge requirements that do not add business value.Developing data models optimized for analytics, including advanced analytics and BI tools.Coaching mindset to mentor teams, including business, data engineers, and architects.Enthusiasm for learning about the business, technical knowledge, and team collaboration.Proactive, results-oriented attitude; willingness to work hands-on and collaborate effectively.KEY QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:Experience in Data Design and Governance.Minimum 5 years of experience in data modeling supporting business processes.Ability to design complex data models connecting internal and external data sources.Optional: Experience profiling data for quality requirements.Minimum 8 years of experience in requirement analysis and working with business stakeholders on data design.Experience working with real-time data.Optional: Experience with Data Catalog tools.Ability to produce accurate documentation supporting project management and coding.Technical SkillsAt least 5 years of experience designing and working with Data Warehouse solutions; S4 HANA knowledge preferred.At least 2 years of experience with visualization tools like Power BI.At least 2 years of experience designing cloud data warehouse solutions (Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, etc.).Proficiency with data modeling tools such as Visio or Power Designer.Optional: Experience with data profiling tools like Informatica or Collibra.Optional: Experience with MDx.Experience working in Azure or similar cloud environments.Must be able to develop SQL queries, with hands-on experience in PySpark and Python.Optional: Ability to work with unstructured data.Optional: Prior success in enterprise cloud migration projects focused on data modeling.Optional: Experience in Manufacturing/Digital Manufacturing.Optional: Designing enterprise data models for analytics in Power BI.Optional: Experience with machine learning model design (Python).Behaviors and AttitudesComfortable working with ambiguity and defining pathways forward.Experience challenging existing processes.Track record of successfully completing projects.Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.Strong communication skills and ability to lead change.Key Competencies:Drives Results, Collaboration, Customer FocusAbout McCain.Click Here to learn more about McCain and how we provide opportunities to make an impact.Leadership Principles.Our leadership principles guide our engagement with customers, collaboration, and success.
