Their facility in Toronto is currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Sanitation Supervisor to lead our sanitation team and ensure compliance with all regulatory and company hygiene standards.Job SummaryThe Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the sanitation activities within the facility to ensure a clean, safe, and hygienic production environment. This role includes supervising a team of sanitation employees, developing sanitation procedures, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards, including HACCP, GMPs, and CFIA regulations.Key Responsibilities Supervise and lead the sanitation team to ensure all cleaning tasks are performed efficiently and effectively. Develop and implement sanitation procedures in compliance with HACCP, GMPs, CFIA regulations, and company standards. Schedule and coordinate sanitation activities to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiency. Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facility cleanliness; follow up on corrective actions. Train and mentor sanitation staff to ensure the proper use of cleaning chemicals and personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain accurate records of sanitation activities, chemical usage, and inspection results. Collaborate with quality assurance, maintenance, and production teams to resolve sanitation-related issues. Ensure that all safety and hygiene protocols are followed, promoting a culture of cleanliness and safety. Participate in audits and assist in preparing documentation for regulatory inspections.Qualifications Minimum 23 years of supervisory experience in a sanitation role within a food manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of sanitation practices, HACCP, GMPs, and CFIA regulations. Experience with cleaning procedures for food production equipment and environments. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.Preferred Qualifications Certification in food safety, sanitation, or related field (e.g., Food Handlers Certificate, HACCP training). Experience working with industrial sanitation equipment and automated cleaning systems.
