Your New Role Reporting directly to the Property Manager, the Resident Building Manager / Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of a rental building in Victoria as well as providing exceptional service to tenants to contribute to a provide a positive living experience. This role is a live in opportunity located near Downtown Victoria. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Communicating with tenants and the internal team to address building needs and concerns. Conduct routine inspections of the building and building grounds to identify and report maintenance needs, including issues related to mechanical systems, waste management, and landscaping. Oversee building security systems as well as tenant and guest parking. Perform routine maintenance and repairs within the building and tenanted suites, and coordinate with contractors and trades as required. Organize and conduct tenant move-ins and move-outs, conduct suite inspections, and manage suite turnover to ensure readiness for move-in. Collect rent and security deposits and ensure that they are properly deposited. Prioritize and manage work orders, using problem-solving skills to address issues timely and efficiently. Maintain detailed and up-to-date records of all maintenance activities. Additional duties as required. What youll need to succeed The ideal candidate will bring high level interpersonal skills and a customer service approach to Building Management & Building Maintenance. You will bring a proactive mindset and the ability to self-start and reprioritize tasks based on building needs. This position requires an individual to have their own tools. 3+ years experience in rental building management / maintenance. Experience with maintaining building and mechanical systems including plumbing, electrical and drywall. Ability to meet physical demands including snow removal and lifting up to 50lbs. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Ability to be on call for emergencies. Asbestos certification level 2 is an asset. Experience using Yardi is an asset.
