Join Sustainable Projects Group (SPG) as a Client Manager for Technical Building Services, where you'll lead impactful retrofit and maintenance projects that improve building performance and reduce carbon emissions. Youll work closely with a key client in the multi-unit residential sector, acting as their trusted advisor on capital planning, energy upgrades, and sustainable operations. This is a hybrid role based in Calgary, with expectations to work at the clients office (or properties) at least a couple days a week in Calgary, with occasional travel to Edmonton. Key ResponsibilitiesClient Leadership & Stakeholder ManagementAct as the main point of contact for a large residential property clientBuild trusted relationships through proactive communication and clear project guidanceBridge the gap between asset management, property operations, and technical consultantsCapital Planning & Project Oversight Client Leadership & Stakeholder ManagementDevelop and execute capital plans aligned with client sustainability and asset goalsOversee construction, retrofit, and maintenance projects from concept to completionCoordinate with contractors, consultants, and SPG internal teams to ensure on-time, on-budget deliveryBuilding Systems & Energy OptimizationMonitor HVAC, lighting, and control systems to ensure optimal performanceRecommend and support energy-efficiency measures and GHG reduction initiativesStay ahead of code compliance, best practices, and industry trends in building operationsDocumentation & ReportingTrack project milestones, decisions, and deliverablesPrepare clear, professional reports and updates for stakeholdersContribute to strategic recommendations and performance insightsWho This Role Is ForYou may have experience as a facility manager, building operator, energy manager, or construction/retrofit project lead in residential or commercial buildings. You're technically grounded, client-focused, and passionate about building performance and sustainability.Required Qualifications5+ years experience in building operations, capital planning, or construction/project management in multi-unit residential or commercial buildingsStrong understanding of base building systems (HVAC, lighting, controls)Demonstrated experience managing projects and coordinating multiple stakeholdersExcellent communication and organizational skillsValid drivers license and ability to travel locally (within Alberta)Bonus ExperienceBuilding automation systems or commissioning projectsGHG reporting, energy audits, or green building certifications (e.g., LEED, BOMA BEST)Professional designation (P.Eng, CET, PMP, or equivalent)Why SPG?Were a high-impact sustainability consulting firm with an entrepreneurial spirit and a people-first mindset.
