Senior Accountant Location: Vancouver, BC Job Type: Full-time (In Office) About the Role A leading public clean-tech company is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee core accounting operations and support financial leadership during a critical growth phase. Reporting to the CFO, the Senior Accountant will lead the day-to-day accounting, compliance, audit, and reporting functions while working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external auditors. Key Responsibilities Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS. Manage full-cycle accounting operations including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and cost accounting. Oversee the month-end and year-end close process ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Support public company reporting requirements including MD&A and regulatory filings. Coordinate and manage all external audits and reviews with external auditors. Ensure compliance with tax, regulatory, and financial obligations in both Canada and the US. Maintain and improve internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure a strong financial governance framework. Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis initiatives alongside FP&A. Work closely with operations, project teams, and HR to ensure proper cost tracking and payroll accuracy. Assist with implementation and optimization of accounting systems and reporting tools. Qualifications CPA designation required; Bachelor''''s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a Senior Accountant or Controller capacity. Experience in a public company environment and familiarity with IFRS required. Strong understanding of Canadian and US financial compliance, tax, and payroll. Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and communication skills. Experience with cloud-based accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar).
