Job Title Health Organizations Winnipeg Regional Health Authority, Shared Health Location Job Type Standard Application Job Description Description: Shared Health (1502-155 Carlton Street, Winnipeg MB, R3C 5R9), Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA), The University of Manitoba, and Department of Surgery invite applications for a Spine Neurosurgeon to commence on September 1, 2025 (or a mutually agreed date). Main duties include diagnosing and treating diseases, prescribing medications, ordering lab tests and diagnostic procedures, and consulting with other physicians, which constitute 75% of the role. The successful candidate may be appointed as an Assistant Professor (or higher, depending on current academic rank) and as a full-time member of the Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba, comprising 25% of the role. All duties are in English. The position involves inpatient and outpatient care and requires individuals with clinical and teaching skills to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate education, research, and tertiary care. The program offers a mix of emergent and elective Neurosurgery. The Health Sciences Centre Winnipeg provides comprehensive Neurosurgical care to a population of 1.5 million. Qualifications The candidate must hold a Doctor of Medicine Degree with specialization in Neurosurgery. Certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada is preferred. Fellowship training or equivalent experience in spinal neurosurgery is required. The candidate will join a team of 11 full-time neurosurgeons. Engagement in clinical research and development of a research program are encouraged. Compensation Compensation includes fee-for-service income and funding as per the Doctors Manitoba agreement. Specialty Physicians may be eligible for a recruitment incentive.
