The Physician will deliver appropriate inpatient and outpatient services in the field of Neurology, specializing in strokes. The physician will participate in the provincial neurology and telestroke on-call system. The physician will participate in the Division of Neurology schedule for inpatient and Emergency Medicine consultations. Other duties may be determined by the Division of Neurology within the Department of Medicine. Neurologists are encouraged to be part of the teaching program affiliated with Dalhousie University Medical School and Memorial University Medical School postgraduate program and teaching in the undergraduate program at Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick. Certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada as Specialist in Neurology or US equivalent, with additional Fellowship training in Stroke Neurology. What you will do Reporting to the Neurology Division Head and the Medical Director for the area, the Physician collaborates with other Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, and other Allied Medical Staff to provide the following: Additional duties may be assigned from time to time as may be necessary to the operation of Horizon Health Network: Provide ambulatory care in a teaching clinic setting. Provide inpatient care including rounds on patients. Provide consultations to hospital-based patients as requested by attending staff. Provide on-call services during statutory holidays, evenings, and weekends as part of the on-call schedule of the provincial service.
