Position SummaryWere looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to join our team and support a broad spectrum of HR functions. This role is instrumental in driving recruitment and onboarding, health and safety initiatives, compensation and benefits administration, disability and leave management, employee and labor relations, training coordination, and HR systems oversight. The HR Coordinator will also ensure the accuracy and integrity of employee records while supporting key documentation processes for both HR and payroll.Primary ResponsibilitiesAct as the first point of contact for HR-related queries from employees, supervisors, and managersManage full-cycle recruitment and onboarding, including new hire documentation and orientationMaintain and update the Human Resources Management System (HRMS) and personnel files; ensure accuracy in reporting and coordinate with payrollOrganize and oversee employee training sessions; maintain the training calendar and track completion recordsSupport the administration of employee benefits and compensation programs; liaise with external providers and address employee inquiriesAssist with the Agencys disability management program, including WSIB, short-term disability, and long-term disability casesContribute to labor relations efforts, including supporting meetings and preparing related materialsParticipate in the development and refinement of HR programs, policies, and proceduresCreate and update job-related standard operating procedures (SOPs)Offer administrative support across HR functions and provide back-up for central administration services when requiredQualifications2+ years of HR Coordinator experience in a unionized settingDiploma or degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Labor Relations, or a related disciplineWorking towards or completion of the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designationStrong written and verbal communication skills with a client-service orientationExcellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative work styleMeticulous attention to detail with sound judgment and effective problem-solving capabilitiesWell-developed organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing prioritiesProficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to HRIS platformsA strong dedication to fostering a culture of workplace health and safety
