About the Client:Our client is a well-established, multidisciplinary engineering firm with a strong presence across Canada. Known for their collaborative approach and technical excellence, they specialise in delivering practical, high-quality solutions for building performance, restoration, and design challenges. Their Halifax office is growing, and they're looking for a motivated Building Science Consultant to support a variety of exciting projects in the region. What You'll Do:Conduct visual and intrusive investigations to identify building envelope and structural issuesDevelop repair strategies and prepare detailed technical reportsCreate engineering drawings and specifications for restoration projects in line with current codes and standardsPerform site reviews to ensure construction aligns with design intentProvide consulting support for building envelope design in new constructionManage contract administration and coordinate with contractors and clientsMentor junior staff and assist with project planning and delivery What You Bring:Diploma or degree in Architectural, Civil/Structural, or Building Science Engineering5+ years of experience in a consulting or engineering environmentWorking toward or already hold a professional designation (e.g., P.Eng., CET)Strong understanding of building envelope systems and construction practicesComfortable working at heights and using access equipment (ladders, swing stages, rooftops)Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed) Nice-to-Haves:Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)Strong communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesFamiliarity with building codes and fire safety standards is a plusExperience working directly with clients and contractors
