Weyburn Comprehensive School currently has approximately 931 students Grades 7 to 12 and 56.20 FTE teachers.Position Details1.0 FTE ContinuingTermThis position will commence at the beginning of the 2025-26 school year.Specific Accountabilities Would Be (but Are Not Limited To)To use best practices, provide leadership in improving the effectiveness of the education programs, the school and school divisionTo provide for continuous progress of students through Saskatchewan's 7-12 core curriculum to meet or exceed the requirements of grade completion and graduationTo ensure the actualization of Saskatchewan's core curriculumTo adapt the curriculum to the conditions of the school where local discretion is possibleTo exercise supervision of professional and paraprofessional staffTo confer with the relevant Superintendent for situations with staff, students, curriculum and any other pertinent mattersTo provide leadership and support within a professional learning community, the school community council and the school improvement planning processTo ensure that progress is made towards the attainment of the goals of the school and the DivisionTo foster desirable relationships between the school and the community, especially between the school, parents and other agenciesOrganizing for adequate supervision of pupilsTo make reasonable provision for the safety and welfare of the pupils and staff in order to prevent unhealthy conditions, injury from fire, accidents or exposure to communicable diseaseTo make recommendations to the appropriate School Division personnel regarding expenditures, facilities, equipment, supplies and other items considered necessary for effective operation of the schoolTo exercise control of the School Based budget allocated by the Division as well as any school raised fundsTo ensure that school discipline is maintainedTo implement and uphold Board Goals, policies and administrative proceduresTo make recommendations with regard to teacher recruitment and selectionTo ensure that care is taken for all school propertyTo submit reports on aspects of the operation of the school as required by the DivisionRequired Knowledge Skills And AbilitiesDemonstrated ability to provide adaptive leadershipClear understanding and ability to provide situational leadershipDemonstrated ability to establish rapport with students and act as a role model to children and youth within the school communityDemonstrated ability to provide for the professional growth and evaluation of school staffDemonstrated ability to create innovative solutions to a wide range of problemsAbility to deal effectively with a broad range of Human Service Agencies, members of the public, including parentsAbility to plan, implement, reflect on and monitor multiple processes within the schoolDemonstrated ability to present and promote change at the school and/or organizational levelDemonstrated ability to prioritize multiple demands and effectively manage timeDemonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality relative to school division operationsSuperior interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and writtenProficiency in the operation of computers, word processing applications and additional software comparable to those currently used in the school divisionPresent a positive and professional approachTypically, These Skills Will Be Achieved Through HavingBachelor of Education Degree from an institution recognized by the Ministry of EducationSaskatchewan Professional 'A' Teaching CertificateMinimum of five (5) years teaching experienceMaster's Degree in Education from an institution recognized by the Ministry of Education is preferredDemonstrated knowledge of Saskatchewan Core Curriculum and Sask.
