We are growing our team and looking for contributors of all seniorities.We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Sr. Software Engineer, AI Development Tools to explore, evaluate, implement, and use cutting-edge AI-powered software development tools and methodologies. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing the latest advancements in AI-driven software tools, integrating them into Tenstorrents workflow, applying them to critical projects, and advocating for their use internally. You will also collaborate with our legal and marketing teams to ensure we remain at the forefront of AI-assisted development while adhering to industry best practices. During the interview process, candidates will be assessed for the appropriate level, and offers will align with that level, which may differ from the one in this posting.Responsibilities:Continuously track and evaluate the latest advancements in AI-driven development tools, assessing their applicability to Tenstorrents AI hardware and software stackDevelop concrete workflows, tools, and examples demonstrating the use of AI agents to generate high-performance code, including Metal & Forge code, operations, kernels, models, system engineering scripts, and demosActively use AI-assisted development tools in Tenstorrent software projects to contribute features, tests, bug fixes, and documentation, ensuring their effectiveness and improving Tenstorrents software infrastructureDesign and implement benchmarks to test these tools on tasks relevant to Tenstorrent, providing data-driven recommendations for their adoptionChampion the adoption of AI-assisted development practices within the company by providing support, documentation, and training for engineersWork with the legal team to navigate the evolving landscape of AI-generated code, providing guidance on best practices and risk mitigationPartner with marketing and recruiting teams to promote Tenstorrents leading-edge AI-assisted development workflows, attracting top talent and enhancing our industrypresenceExperience & Qualifications:BSc, MSc, or PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a relatedfieldUnderstanding and enthusiasm for modern AI/ML tools, models, and their application to software developmentExperience with software development in C, C++, Python, and familiarity with AI frameworks and compiler toolchainsStrong background in high-performance computing, system software, and parallel programmingExperience with benchmarking and performance analysis of AI models and compute workloadsPassion for AI-assisted development and eagerness to drive internal adoption of emerging toolsFamiliarity with legal and compliance aspects of AI-generated code is a plusStrong communication skills with the ability to evangelize AI tools and workflows within a technical organizationCompensation for all engineers at Tenstorrent ranges from $100k - $500k including base and variable compensation targets.
