Arobas Personnel is looking for a Solutions Architect for a contract with one of our clients located in Ottawa.*Remote: Hybrid*What does your day-to-day look like?Under the direction of the Assistant Director, Cyber Access Control, you will:Serve as the lead technical expert and oversee planning activities to drive the development of solution architecture for the External Partners Access platform, including Advanced Risk-Based Authentication, Authorization, and other security initiatives.Develop an architectural framework and design for solution components within the Identity and Access Management (IAM) portfolio to support both new project delivery and ongoing maintenance and enhancement efforts.Ensure that data, infrastructure, and application architectures are aligned with project objectives.Assist in developing solutions that meet the needs of security teams and project requirements.Participate in all phases of the project and DevOps lifecycle, contributing technical expertise, creativity, and strategic insight to IAM initiatives.Support employees in developing solutions.Define and document solution architecture, including structure, connections, and relationships with security interfaces, business applications, data, and user interfaces.Identify technical issues and risks, defining appropriate mitigation approaches.Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to confirm detailed design specifications and ensure seamless integration of solution components.Coordinate the implementation of detailed designs.Work with the Cyber Security team to apply relevant security standards.Present and seek approval for proposed designs from governing bodies.Prepare and conduct knowledge transfer sessions for employees.Provide on-the-job training, coaching, guidance, and support to junior colleagues.Perform other related activities and deliverables as required.What were looking for?University degree or college diploma in Information Technology Management, Information Technology Engineering, or a related field.A minimum of five (5) years of experience working with enterprise mission-critical/high-availability solution architecture and technologies.At least five (5) years of hands-on experience designing and deploying scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant system solutions in Microsoft Azure.Five (5) years of experience managing, configuring, and troubleshooting Active Directory environments, including hybrid architectures.Expertise in designing and implementing Azure Entra ID Services, including User and Group Management, Application Integration, Single Sign-On (SSO), and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).Knowledge of security implementations such as SAML, Kerberos, OAuth, and OpenID Connect.Experience with Akamai services and products (GTM, Site Shield, etc.).Knowledge of various Web Application Platform technologies (F5, Akamai, Azure, etc.) and application proxy solutions (F5, NGINX, Zscaler, Netskope, etc.).Experience with SSL termination and its role in securing on-premises applications.Experience migrating on-premises applications and services to the cloud.Understanding of Gartner best practices and industry-leading solutions.Ability to write clear and concise documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.Additional Qualifications:Experience with Broadcom API Gateway (formerly Layer 7 or CA API Gateway).Experience with Broadcom LDAP Services and Access Policy Management (formerly Site Manager).Knowledge of leading vendor platforms such as Azure Entra ID and Okta.Experience coordinating efforts with multiple technical teams to build and implement solutions.Ability to work independently and in a team environment.Recognized IT industry certifications such as TOGAF, Zachman, ITIL, and project management certifications.
