The District has been recognized as one of BCs Top Employers, is known for its vibrant local communities, and is famed for its world-class recreation and tourism.Position OverviewThe Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) serves as the most senior executive for the District of North Vancouver, responsible for overseeing all aspects of government administration, financial management, and human resources functions. Reporting directly to the Mayor and Council, the CAO provides strategic leadership to ensure the effective delivery of municipal programs and services while aligning operations with the Districts long-term vision and priorities. This role fosters collaboration between Council, staff, and the community to drive innovation, operational excellence, and sustainable growth. The CAO plays a key role in shaping policy direction, implementing Council decisions, and ensuring transparency and accountability in municipal governance.The preferred candidate will bring a demonstrated track record of success in a senior leadership position within a progressive local government or other public sector organization of comparable complexity. Equipped with outstanding leadership skills, the ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the current political landscape, municipal operations and governance, as well as superior interpersonal abilities with a track record of building and sustaining a positive corporate culture through positive relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders including First Nations, municipal partners, and other agencies. This role is ideally suited to municipal leaders with a penchant for innovation and a track record of building organizational resilience.CompensationThe current salary range for the position is $295,000-$330,000, plus benefits and pension.
