The Executive Council Office is the centre of excellence for the Government of Yukon. We are leaders in the modernization of government standards and processes. We provide central strategic advice to advance government priorities through policy development, communications, intergovernmental relations, Indigenous relations, major project management, youth initiatives, Indigenous and scientific knowledge, and by supporting the Water Board and the Commissioners Office. We also provide direct support to the Premier and Cabinet.The opportunity:The Executive Council Office is looking for an individual to support the Yukon Water Board. By way of the Waters Act, the Yukon Water Board regulates the use of water and deposit of waste to water. It is also responsible for certain functions under the Placer Mining Act. As a licensing officer, you will help the Board in the review and processing of applications for water licences and Class 4 placer mining land use approvals. If you are a motivated and highly organized individual who is committed to excellent client service and who thrives in a challenging, fast paced, deadline-oriented environment, we want to hear from you!Reporting to the Manager of Licensing, your primary duties will include reviewing applications and working with applicants to achieve a complete and adequate application. You will prepare written summaries with recommendations and make presentations to the Board.
