RVT, OphthalmologyLocation: Calgary, ABThe Calgary Animal Referral and Emergency (C.A.R.E.) Centre is currently welcoming a full-time Ophthalmology Animal Health Technologist to join our busy service.The C.A.R.E. Centre is a fully equipped referral hospital with board-certified specialists in various fields including internal medicine, critical care, surgery, radiology, oncology, ophthalmology, neurology, cardiology, dermatology, emergency, and dentistry/oral surgery. We are committed to supporting pet owners and the veterinary community by providing high-quality emergency and referral care.The successful candidate should possess excellent interpersonal skills, be compassionate, and adaptable to client needs. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively within a team. The role involves significant client communication, including updates, appointment scheduling, admitting/discharging for surgery, and responding to messages. Anesthesia procedures, including mechanical ventilation and paralytic medications, are performed regularly. Other responsibilities include scheduling appointments, conducting ERG and IOP tests, collecting and analyzing blood samples, and maintaining accurate patient records.Schedule: The position offers a 4 x 10.5-hour shift schedule from Tuesday to Friday. Additional after-hours anesthesia duties are required. Applicants must be registered with AHT and eligible for registration with AAAHT/ABVMA in Alberta.
