People build careers with IWK Health with our focus on training and mentorship opportunities.The OpportunityThe MRI Technologist, under the general supervision of the area supervisor and department manager, is responsible for the operation of the MRI and accessory equipment requiring minimum supervision, independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. Responsibilities include performing MRI procedures for medical diagnosis, assessing requisitions, obtaining pertinent history, screening patients for MRI safety, providing patient care, monitoring patients, selecting techniques, post-processing images, maintaining an MRI safe environment, and performing clerical duties related to patient care.Hours of WorkDaytime and evening hours (75 hours biweekly). On-call after hours and weekends rotation.Your QualificationsGraduate of a recognized school of Medical Radiation Technology required with CAMRT certification in MRI.Current or eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) required.Successful completion of a Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Basic Life Support (BLS) Program in the last 12 months required or successful completion of a BLS Renewal Challenge Certificate required.Demonstrated ability to make independent technical decisions and work as part of an interdisciplinary team required.Must be willing to obtain continuing education.Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.Competencies in other languages an asset.Thank you for your interest in IWK Health.
