The NP holds didactic education, clinical competency, and national certification in their specialty, demonstrating medical knowledge, clinical judgment, professionalism, and commitment to professional development.ResponsibilitiesObtain and document health histories; perform physical exams; develop care plans.Provide healthcare services for primary, acute, and complex patient care, managing overall patient outcomes.Order, perform, interpret, and collect diagnostic data.Formulate differential diagnoses and treat acute and chronic conditions.Prescribe pharmacologic, non-pharmacologic, and surgical interventions.Follow evidence-based protocols; facilitate referrals and consultations.Support patient transitions between care settings.RequirementsTN license as Nurse Practitioner/Physician AssistantAdult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) / Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) / Physician Assistant (PA)Position DetailsFull-Time, Night shifts3-13 hour shifts weekly, rotating weekendsInpatient coverage; No OR timeDepartment & ProgramVanderbilt Neurosurgery provides comprehensive care for neurological conditions, employing a multidisciplinary approach to optimize patient outcomes.
