INTREPID is a large team that spans Research, Education, Healthcare system support and Commercialization across Ontario and Canada.ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Manager, the candidate will be responsible for carrying out the following activities to support the implementation of training in health behaviour change, including nicotine and tobacco use, other substance use, chronic disease prevention and mental health:Conduct environmental scans and literature searches and synthesize evidence-based information for a range of knowledge productsCreate storyboards, develop interactive learning activities, and design course content and activities within online Learning Management Systems (including Moodle and Articulate)Conduct needs assessments and identify training needs among target populationsEngage diverse learner/stakeholder populations, including youth, students, teachers, healthcare providers and parents/care-giversApply a scientific lens to the initiation and development of new training and education initiativesLead discussions with subject matter expert advisory groups to support training developmentSearch for state of the art scientific knowledge and practices related to prevention, harm reduction, policy and cessation, as it pertains to tobacco and other nicotine use, such as e-cigarettes and vapingThe CH&E Specialist will help to develop accredited course curriculum, training programs, educational and presentation materials, and implement a comprehensive evaluation plan for online learning. The successful candidate will also evaluate training modules on a variety of process and outcome measures to ensure continuous quality improvement, and contribute to the development of the departments strategic priorities and deliverables and other tasks as assigned. The successful candidate will support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork, and complies with all applicable policies, regulatory and legislative requirements. This position is currently located at 1025 Queen Street.Job RequirementsThe successful candidate will possess a Masters Degree in Education, Public Health, Social Science or related field with at least two (2) years of relevant experience in the development and delivery of training and education programming. The candidate will have experience in instructional design, and knowledge of education, learning theories, curriculum design, and evaluation models.Key Qualifications IncludeDemonstrated experience working within an online Learning Management System; experience using the Moodle platform is a strong assetDemonstrated experience with the development of interactive learning objects, and using HTML code to build content into online Learning Management SystemsAdvanced knowledge and experience with university library databases and reference material search and retrieval proceduresStrong working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), social media platforms, reference management software and statistical software (SPSS, SAS)Strong knowledge translation, dissemination and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex information into a variety of engaging formats for diverse audience groups.
