Ultimately, EllisDons purpose is to provide people with similar values the opportunity to achieve to their full potential; to deliver that opportunity for great careers to one another, and to contribute meaningfully to the community we share with others.In case youre curious, heres what the industry thinks of us and some of the impacts we've made to the communities we work in and our latest impact report.You As a Legal Counsel, Employment WillBe responsible for all negotiations and settlement processes related to employment disputesDraft, review & interpret legal documentation pertaining to employment lawAssess risk and provide recommendations throughout the organization for action to be taken as it pertains to employmentCreating and identifying areas of improvement within EllisDon's employment relations processPartner with People & Culture to advise leaders within all levels of the organizationDirect compliance with laws related to employmentAdvise on employment laws and regulations across CanadaCommunicate with internal clients & external counselAssist other members of EllisDon's Legal team when relevantIs this the right role for you?2-3 years of experience working in employment law as a lawyer/legal counselCalled to the Ontario Bar and licensed to practice law in the province of OntarioExcellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Strong verbal and written communication skills in French are an assetGood sense of judgement & a proven ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment/industryExperience within the construction industry is an assetStrong knowledge of employment law in other provinces (ie.
