CUPE 5791 Job Family Category Executive Number of Vacancies 1 Position Summary: Reporting to the Provost and Vice-President (Academic), the Dean of La Cit universitaire francophone provides strategic vision, leadership and oversight to enhance La Cits national and global profile. In partnership with University colleagues, governments, the Fransaskois community and other key stakeholders, the Dean fosters an educational, research and sociocultural hub that builds capacity and expertise in the Francophone community while offering academic programming that ensures a culturally immersive experience in support of bilingual educational learners. Key Responsibilities: Pursuing Federal and provincial funding opportunities, cost recovery education contracts and other sources of financial support required to support a French-language academic and social-culture university studies centre. Developing community, national and international partnerships and global alliances to sustain accessibility and quality of programs. Supporting French-language minority rights through partnerships with the Fransaskois and Francophone communities within Saskatchewan and across Canada. Demonstrating an understanding of, and strong commitment to, Indigenous communities through reconciliation and Indigenization as envisioned in the Indigenous Engagement Strategic Plan, Tapwewin kwayaskwastsowin: Truth and Putting Things Right . Specific Accountabilities: Developing a comprehensive strategic plan for La Cit, including outreach plans for liaisons with Francophone communities and objectives for increasing academic and cultural partnerships. Advancing and monitoring the success of the Integrated Pathway in French and Francophone Intercultural Studies and Law, Bilingual Option in Nursing, and other collaborations. Creating and stabilizing funding sources and strategies to develop, coordinate and sustain La Cits academic and administrative capacity. Implementing a strategic enrolment plan that enriches the student experience and enhances programming. Designing enrolment strategies focused on recruitment and retention of Francophone students. Managing institutional agreements and relationships to support international and Francophone student recruitment. Serving as an expert resource in Francophone cultures and protocol. Collaborating with La Cit senior staff and faculty to support qualified candidates committed to preserving Francophone identity. Promoting an equitable, diverse, and inclusive environment. Supervising and providing leadership to direct reports. Position Requirements: Ph.D. in a related field, with a demonstrated understanding of an academic environment. Demonstrated bilingual competency in French and English. Experience in teaching and pedagogical scholarship in French as a Second Language. Experience developing education policy for Francophone minorities. Working knowledge of Federal policies related to bilingualism and multiculturalism. Excellent communication and influencing skills. Strong interpersonal skills to maintain stakeholder relationships. Substantial experience managing complex programs. Experience in budget management and strategic revenue planning. Proven ability to build relationships with key stakeholders. Understanding of research and scholarship. Commitment to enhancing the experiences of Francophone students. Excellent leadership skills.
