ELEKS is looking for an independent contractor (B2B involvement) for a Data Lead/Data Architect role in Canada or the USA. ABOUT PROJECT Our client is a Canada-based company and a leading independent owner and operator of containerships, providing leasing solutions to major global shipping companies. The role requires working on-site in the clients office in Canada with short-term engagement. REQUIREMENTS At least 8 years of development experience Experience with Azure Ability to design and document data architecture 3 years of hands-on experience architecting solutions on Cloud Platforms and Data Platforms Working knowledge of Databricks, Snowflake (would be a plus) Experience in creating and implementing data architectures Understanding of software, infrastructure and security architecture in cloud and non-functional aspects like performance, scalability, reliability, availability, maintainability and others Ability to estimate, plan and track project status and deliverables Experience with market leading relational databases, big data, and streaming technologies Experience in data modeling, defining data strategy, designing data lake, data warehouse Experience in processing large volumes of data for throughput and latency goals Experience with migrations to the Clouds (would be a plus) Experience designing data architectures with data integrations of different types: including API / microservices, enterprise applications, legacy databases, raw data Hands-on experience at least in one programming language (C#, Python, Java, Scala) Willingness to develop in data analytics domain and train colleagues Experience with AI and GAI tools (would be a plus) RESPONSIBILITIES Design data architecture for solutions for medium and large enterprises based on available requirements and technical documentation Work together with business analyst and software architects on the requirements elicitation and holistic solution design Design and document data architectures Analyze and estimate required efforts for solution implementation Develop data architecture knowledge expertise at the company, support and consult fellow architects WHAT YOU WILL GET WITH ELEKS Close cooperation with a customer Challenging tasks Ability to influence project technologies Team of professionals Dynamic environment with low level of bureaucracy ELEKS is a custom software development company.
