Job Title

The Director, Commercial Insurance will be responsible for working alongside and reporting to the Vice President, Commercial Insurance to deliver the strategic vision of the brokerage. This individual will be a positive, dynamic, and strong people leader who desires the challenge of leading, growing, and mentoring frontline brokerage teams in a hybrid and flexible work environment.RESPONSIBILITIESLeading, driving and supporting a frontline broker team through the implementation of JDIMIs overall strategy, operating plan, administrative budgets and processesSupporting JDIMI in establishing and maintaining strong relationships with carriersCoaching, mentoring and developing Commercial Insurance team members to achieve desired personal and organizational objectivesLeading, managing, and establishing performance expectations for multiple high performing teamsStrategizing with high performing teams and leadership members on key accountsDeveloping and establishing operating policies consistent with JDIMIs strategic vision and objectives and ensuring their adequate executionCollaborating with the VP, Commercial Insurance on financial measurements and analysis to evaluate and establish JDIMIs business operations and to determine / forecast hiring decisionsCollaborating with the VP, Commercial Insurance on the Commercial Insurance budget, goal setting, and annual compensation increasesMaintaining companys best practices while ensuring legal compliancy and establishing new ones to stay competitive in the insurance marketplaceExhibiting leadership style that fosters a culture of innovation, creativity, accountability and collaborationParticipating in the development and preparation of short-term and long-range plans and budgets based upon broad organization goals and objectivesREQUIREMENTSMinimum 7 years commercial experience preferably in an insurance brokerage / companyPositive experience leading a team is an asset, but the desire to lead is more importantCAIB, CRM CIP or FCIP designation an assetExperience working with EPIC & CSR 24 an assetExperience in Office 365In-depth knowledge of insurance brokerage business practices and processesUnderstand how products and services impact client needs and develop processes to improve qualityA team player who is friendly, and collaborativeStrong initiative, leadership and strategic thinkingAbility to work independently and with all levels of the organizationExceptional communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills required to affect change and to buildJones DesLauriers is actively committed to support diversity, equity, and inclusion.
