Our unique model truly creates strategic alignment between the goals of hiring managers, HR professionals, recruiters and career/contract seekers.The Senior Consultant (Financial Industry) will be responsible for either leading or being a senior member of a project team, facilitating JAD sessions/ requirements gathering. This includes understanding business processes, managing requests for improvement to applications or processes, and documenting requirements for solution to the business needs.You Will:Execute consulting engagements, such as:Conducting planning initiatives to define the target IT architecture (applications, databases, technologies) to support business objectives.Articulating and evaluating trade-offs among alternative approaches for meeting business objectives and recommending a specific course of action.Defining transition strategies and release plans, and scoping delivery projects against the target architecture.Acting as an advisor to system delivery projects to ensure alignment with the target architecture and long-term business objectives.Working with business area and IT subject matter experts to develop requirements for new/enhanced system solutions.Organizing and conducting RFI/RFP processes to identify and assess package applications and solutions.Preparing and delivering management-level presentations to convey the key results from our clients engagements.Guide and mentor more junior resources in the above.Assist with the preparation of proposals for new engagements.Contribute to the ongoing growth of our clients consulting business by representing our client at industry conferences and enhancing/extending our clients intellectual property (e.g., evaluative frameworks, industry business models, whitepapers).You Have:Degree in Science, Math or Engineering-related principles or a Degree in Business with strong experience in the areas outlined below.10 years experience within the Financial Industry, Capital Markets, and/or Wealth/Investment Management enterprises and familiarity with the types of systems used within these types of businesses.10 years experience with business analysis, business system analysis or IT.Prior experience working within a consulting environment is an asset.Experience applying structured approaches for business and systems analysis.Strong analytical and conceptual skills.Ability to work comfortably at varying levels of abstraction and uncertainty.Bias towards detail-oriented, rigorous approach to problem-solving.Background in logical level data and/or process modeling.Familiarity with typical considerations/issues associated with enterprise architecture planning, data management, and system integration.Sound understanding of systems development lifecycle.Strong understanding of capital markets and/or wealth management business areas and the types of systems used to support them.Highly organized with the ability to organize the work of others.Excellent interpersonal skills, diplomatic and professional, and able to quickly establish effective working relationships with new people.Service-oriented team player.Confident and enthusiastic attitude.Demonstrated ability to build and sustain trust with clients.Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to adapt style to the client environment.Independent thinker and problem solver with the ability to maintain an objective point of view and apply sound judgment under pressure of time with limited information.Ability to manage issues, changes and problems including the ability to ascertain and communicate what is important to do, delegate or drop.Travel:The head office is located in Toronto and there will be additional travel to other Canadian cities as required (usually day travel).Competencies:Organizational AwarenessCustomer Empathy and FocusTenacity and ResiliencePassion for Excellence and IntegrityIf you're not interested, but know someone who is, please help a current or former colleague in their career development by referring them; please feel free to forward this email/job posting to them.
