Job Description

Position Summary Were looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to join our team and support a broad spectrum of HR functions. This role is instrumental in driving recruitment and onboarding, health and safety initiatives, compensation and benefits administration, disability and leave management, employee and labor relations, training coordination, and HR systems oversight. The HR Coordinator will also ensure the accuracy and integrity of employee records while supporting key documentation processes for both HR and payroll. Primary Responsibilities Act as the first point of contact for HR-related queries from employees, supervisors, and managers Manage full-cycle recruitment and onboarding, including new hire documentation and orientation Maintain and update the Human Resources Management System (HRMS) and personnel files; ensure accuracy in reporting and coordinate with payroll Organize and oversee employee training sessions; maintain the training calendar and track completion records Support the administration of employee benefits and compensation programs; liaise with external providers and address employee inquiries Assist with the Agencys disability management program, including WSIB, short-term disability, and long-term disability cases Contribute to labor relations efforts, including supporting meetings and preparing related materials Participate in the development and refinement of HR programs, policies, and procedures Create and update job-related standard operating procedures (SOPs) Offer administrative support across HR functions and provide back-up for central administration services when required Qualifications 2+ years of HR Coordinator experience in a unionized setting Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Labor Relations, or a related discipline Working towards or completion of the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation Strong written and verbal communication skills with a client-service orientation Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative work style Meticulous attention to detail with sound judgment and effective problem-solving capabilities Well-developed organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to HRIS platforms A strong dedication to fostering a culture of workplace health and safety
